iPod Mini Battery Change
I was so fed up with my Mini's deteriorating battery performance that I decided to do something about it. A factory replacement was almost 100 dollars, so that was not an option for me. On the internet I found several sources for iPod batteries, so I went ahead and did it. I opened up my trusty old Mini and found out it is not hard to do. You just have to be careful, but with a little patience and some simple tools, anyone can do it. Now my iPod is back to it's old self, giving me 8 hours of listening pleasure after a full charge. A far cry from the measly couple of hours it was giving me before. And now they are even selling better capacity batteries that outperform the old ones. I am tempted to open it up again.
Change your Mini into an 8GB beast.
An iPod Mini is a great little thing. But with 4GB of storage, for many people it can be too little space with the MP3's on there. So deleting and restoring from time to time is the answer in most cases. Ofcourse you could buy a bigger iPod, but many have over time bought loads of accessories for the mini. Carcharger, iTrip FM Transmitter, protective cases etc etc. Buying a new iPod would mean throwing away a lot of money. But fear not, the answer is here. When you've opened up your iPod to change the battery, you could consider dropping in a bigger (8GB) minidisk. It drops in place of the old one without modifications. It's not a cheap upgrade, but if you want to use your Mini for some time more, it could be worth every penny. You double your MP3 space and your trusty Mini is still your friend.
